About us

SWIS is a team of passionate and dedicated support workers offering 1:1 and 2:1 personalised programs to meet the varying needs and abilities of young people across Devon, Cornwall, Torbay and Somerset.

We believe that all children and young people deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential, and together we ensure children can thrive and learn in safe, quality-assured nurturing environments. This means offering different packages of support that enable the right balance of social and emotional support, intervention and education for each child.

"I feel proud to work for a company that has such an impact on people’s lives, feeling supported in both personal/professional development and in turn equipping me with the skills I need to do my job effectively."

Why join us at Swis?

Children and young people are at the centre of all we do. We support them to feel confident and build resilience, but most importantly to keep them safe while having fun and learning. We work alongside multiple SEN teams and Children’s Service Teams and we thrive on having excellent working relationships with parents, carers and other care professionals. This ensures we offer a holistic, positive network of support around each young person and their family.

We’re looking for people who are caring, empathic and who understand how children can be affected by experiences, but we also want you to be willing to invest in your own development. If you’re career focused and want to build a career in care we want to invest in you, by helping you work through the roles over time and gain further qualifications.

Our Services

We provide children and young people with social care in the form of activities, family support, hospital support and emergency support. We also enable them to access alternative education when school is not the right setting.

Social Care

Our social care packages help young people and their families where they need it most. This might be in the form of short breaks, where children have the opportunity to meet new people, take part in activities and enjoy positive learning opportunities, or as family support in challenging domestic situations. We also offer hospital support and emergency and crisis care.

Education

We create tailored packages of support so that children and young people can access learning at a pace that suits them. This can include 1:1 or 2:1 support either in the community or at The Hive, our centre in Buckfastleigh, or help with reintegration into the classroom after time away. We offer opportunities for young people to gain AQA Awards in over 3500 subjects, offering them a sense of achievement and purpose that builds resilience, confidence and emotional stability.
